Refund of course fees

These terms and conditions include, but are not limited to, the following SCCA courses:

  • Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine
  • Certificate of Dermoscopy
  • Diploma of Dermoscopy
  • Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery
  • Advanced Surgical Skills Workshop
  • Skin Cancer Histopathology Workshop
  1. Where a student decides to withdraw from any SCCA education course prior to commencement of the course, advice of their withdrawal must be received in writing by the SCCA administration office 14 days prior to commencement.
  2. Where a student decides to withdraw from a SCCA course more than 14 days prior to the commencement date they will receive a refund of any fees paid (deposit and/or full course fee) less a $110 cancellation fee. Without notice in writing, or for withdrawal within 14 days of course commencement, no refund of course fees will be considered.
  3. Where a deposit has been paid and the student does not commence the course and does not make contact with SCCA prior to the course commencement date, they will forfeit 100% of their deposit and no refund is payable.
  4. Where a deposit has been paid but the balance remains unpaid by the course commencement date, the student will not be permitted to commence the course and they will forfeit 100% of the deposit paid.

The following terms and conditions apply to the following SCCA courses:

  • Diploma of Dermoscopy
  • Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery
  1. Where a student decides to withdraw from a course within one calendar month after the course commencement date, they will receive a refund of the full course fee, less a 20% cancellation fee.
  2. In cases where a student withdraws from a course more than one month after the course commencement date, or fails to complete the course within the accepted time frame without contacting the SCCA office to advise their inability to complete, no refund of the course fee is payable.
  3. Notwithstanding the above, the management of SCCA reserves the right to make decisions regarding refund of course fees based on individual student circumstances.

Note: the option of transferring enrolment fees to a future date for the same course is not permissible.  Special or unforseen circumstances will be considered upon application.

Terms and conditions regarding sitting examinations included in SCCA education courses

These terms and conditions apply to the following SCCA courses:

  • Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine
  • Certificate of Dermoscopy
  1. Where a student undertakes an exam but fails to pass, the student can resit the exam not more than 12 months after the commencement of the original education course in which the student was enrolled.
  2. Where a student resits an exam, they will be charged an examination fee which must be paid prior to undertaking the exam. The examination fee will vary depending on the nature and complexity of the exam. Fees can be obtained by contacting the College.
  3. Where a student resits an exam and successfully passes the exam, the relevant award for successful completion of the course will be provided by the College.
  4. If a student resits an exam but again fails to pass the exam, they will not be permitted to undertake the exam a third time. The student will however have the option to re-enrol in the relevant course as a new student, pay the full course fee, complete the necessary course work and undertake any exams.
  5. In cases where a student has dropped out of a course, or fails to complete the course without notifying SCCA of a reason for non-completion, they will not be eligible to sit for any of the course exams. The student will however have the option to re-enrol in the relevant course as a new student, pay the full course fee, complete the necessary course work and then undertake any exams.
  6. Notwithstanding the above, SCCA reserves the right to make decisions regarding resitting of exams based on individual student circumstances.
